Luke Hancock - Director
Luke Hancock is the Choral Director at Beddingfield High School in Wilson, NC where he conducts the BHS Mixed Chorus and Vocal Ensemble and the Greenville Choral Society Youth Chorale. Under his direction, Beddingfield has consistently received Superior ratings at state and regional festivals and competitions and in 2019, Mr. Hancock was selected as the Scott Jones Memorial Teacher of the Year. As an active member of the North Carolina Music Educator's Association, Mr. Hancock organizes and hosts Solo/Small-Ensemble Music Performance Adjudication for his district and he also hosts the zone rehearsal for the North Carolina High School All-State Chorus. Prior to his appointment at Beddingfield, Mr. Hancock served as the Choral Director at Greene Central High School and also at South and West Edgecombe Middle Schools. Mr. Hancock received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education from East Carolina University where he studied voice with Mr. John Kramar, music education with Dr. Jeffrey Ward, and conducting with Dr. Daniel Bara. Mr. Hancock was a Magna Cum Laude graduate, a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, a Brother of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and a member of the ECU Chamber Singers, Choral Scholars, University Chorale, Marching Pirates, and he was also a frequent performer in the ECU Opera Theatre. Mr. Hancock has been conducting the GCS Youth Chorale since 2013.
